OK, so I've been slacking off lately. It's true. I apologize, mostly to myself. There's no excuse good enough. That being said, I'd like to announce some new shit.

First of all, I've become active again on Tumblr and deviantART. This is good news for two reasons: 1. seeing other people's art always lights a fire under my ass and 2. I have another avenue for exposure. I've really been getting into all the social networks lately. Ironically, the one I used to spend most of  my time on, Facebook, has become the least interesting to me.

Going back to other people's art, I went to STAPLE! The Independent Media Expo for the first time yesterday. Talk about over-stimulation! There were so many wonderfully gifted artists there that were, for the most part, very willing to talk about their craft. I learned a lot and I got my fill of inspiration. This is the stash of art I came home with:
I know, right?!? AMAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!! And this is all I had money for (the rest was spent on new art supplies). I can't wait to go back next year, especially since I kinda wanna get my own booth. I have to check into it first, but I'll keep you posted if I do.

Regarding my own work, I started two new pieces a week or so ago. I finished "Lily" first; "Spider" was completed just about an hour ago. He's literally scanning right now. I'll post her first.
She's for sale in my Etsy shop. Prints are also available.
And here's "Spider":
He's not available anywhere yet, because he's a birthday gift to a friend, but I imagine prints will be up in my shop soon.
Other than that, uh, hmmm. Oh, the Valentine's Day cards went over real well and I started a new sketch today. Hopefully I'll have something new to show you this week. I better, since I just spent a fuckton of money on new supplies at Jerry's Artarama!

XO,
Angel Laveaux

P.S. If you want to keep up with me online (besides here), you can follow me at these fine places, with more to come soon, I am sure:

Etsy
Facebook
Twitter
Wordpress
Tumblr
deviantART

(And these are just the ones I'm willing to share!)

Holy shit, I haven't been here in a month!?! Well, I have been preoccupied with my Wordpress and, actually, I have been painting a bit. Let's see... There was the watercolor I did for my parents for Christmas ("Love At First Sight"), then "Dita Von Teese" and today I finished "I Heart You" (all pictured below). I was going to use Dita's portrait as the basis of my handmade Valentine's Day cards, but then had a change of heart (heh). Instead I am going to use the latter once I add some mystery components to it. I will also be offering them for sell in my Etsy shop. If you're interested, stay tuned for details, as they say.

Other than that, there's not much to say. I am expecting a late Christmas present from my beloved tomorrow, a Google Nexus 10 tablet. SQUEE!!! I am so excited!!! It's been on back order for weeks. Hopefully it will guide me to new, exciting things. I feel a lot of change in the air...

Angel Laveaux

I've done a few more watercolor paintings this month, two of which I am pretty pleased with. Not much to tell besides that. Well, there is one other thing... If I can swing it financially, I will be sending out Halloween cards this year. This is what they'll look like.
So, if you want one, email me with your mailing address and we'll see what we can do. Here are the other two pieces I've been working on.

I have to thank my beautiful friends for inspiring me. Thank you, I love you.

Good night,

So, Valentine's Day has come and gone and I've got some new projects on my mind. I will probably keep the zombie cards available since I did sell a few, but I'm considering removing the "Happy Valentine's Day" text and re-categorizing them under "Geekery". We'll see.

I'm also talking to my grandmother who crocheted my creepy cute brain cap and sickly sweet road kill scarf about selling her creations via my Etsy store. She wants to make squashed rats and other types of quirky head bands. I can't wait! I may even try to get her to take some of the monstrous ideas that I have had and bring them to life. Being Dr. Frankenstein just sounds like fun. Doesn't it?

That's all I've got for now. As always, I love hearing from you guys. If you have any hideous ideas of your own, don’t be shy. Maybe we can work out a deal. I love this shit.

XO,
Angel Laveaux

I did a test run of the cards yesterday and I wasn't pleased with the way they looked, so I decided to print them at 4" X 6" instead of the 2.75" X 3.75" size I originally listed them as. I'm not increasing the price, however. I actually feel better about charging $1 ($2 with shipping) for them now. Start checking your mailboxes early next week!

The cards are now listed on Etsy! This is what they look like with text:
That's about all I have for today. But isn't that enough?    ;-p

XO,

P.S. Don't forget that I will send you one for free if you send me your mailing address!

P.P.S. Holy fuck, I just sold one! I <3 you, Jillian!

Howdy! For very-near-future reference, I have begun creating Valentine's Day cards that a) I will be sending out to people whose addresses I have (please update me with yours if you have moved) and b) you can send out to loved ones if you want to. I have to add text, do some editing, get some supplies, etc. before I can post them on Etsy, but that shouldn't take too long and I'll let you know as soon as they're available. Also, they will be inexpensive and I hope to have a few different versions you can choose from. Below is one of the designs I will use.

If this becomes a popular item (and by "popular" I mean I sell more than one), then I will do this for other holidays as well. Custom orders are also something I want to encourage.
