Hey, everybody. I don't have a lot of news - well, nothing I can talk about yet anyway. I haven't been drawing much in the last week or so, but I've been thinking about drawing and I will have something new to show you very soon. Possibly multiple things. Maybe even jewelry, or t-shirts. Perhaps jewelry AND t-shirts!
Mostly I've been working on this site. As you can see to your right, I have a lovely new blogroll filled with delicious links all devoted to art. A lot of these blogs belong to friends of mine, new and old (a couple of them actually belong to my sexy, nerdy boyfriend). Others I'm just a big fan of. If you have an art-related blog or know someone who does, shoot me the link and I'll add it to the roll.
I'm really into networking to build a community of artists that support, protect and encourage each other. No one is an island. There can be no “scene” if creative individuals don’t work together. That being said, I don't buy art from assholes, no matter how nice their art is. I'd have a lot less money (and wall space) if this was not my policy. I feel very strongly about this. It’s about respect, mutual and genuine affection. I don’t understand why that’s so hard for some people.
Anyway, I can be a nice person. Talk to me. Be honest with me. Work with me. I think it would benefit every artist if there was a healthier global attitude about sharing, giving and communicating. Let’s show them how it’s done. Just follow my lead. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, ya know? That seems fair enough.
Also, if there is a Jerry’s Artarama in your area, you might wanna check out Groupon.com because they’ve been advertizing deals in which you only have to spend $19 to receive $40 worth of art supplies. It’s incredibly easy, but the offer is limited and you have to snag it fast. I have to thank my BFF, Tee, for turning me on to this.
