Yikes! I haven't posted in a while and now I have a million things to update you on. Typical me. Oh, well. The big news is that I have two upcoming shows this month. I'll post the flyers below. I created a new piece called "Voodoo Queen" (inspired by the wonderfully kind and beautiful model/actress De'Cha Laveau) this week in preparation for it. I also decorated 7 tiny coffin boxes to sell. Each are uniquely handcrafted out of love... love for the macabre.
Catching up, I neglected to post three other pieces I recently did, all portraits; one of my beloved Elliott Smith titled "Little Boy In Blue"; the next, "Beautiful Mess", was inspired by Frances Bean Cobain and the other is of Tori Amos called "Hey Jupiter" that I did for one of my best friends. I donated a print to a benefit for RAINN in her name on her birthday. That was awesome. I am selling prints of all three in my Etsy shop.
Ummm, what else? Oh, yeah. I recently took a trip to NYC where I got to see 5 Pointz before they tear it down to make luxury condos. If you're not familiar with the place, it's a graffiti art mecca encompassing an entire city block in Long Island City. This was my second trip there and sadly my last. I'll post one pic from there, my favorite piece, by a guy named Esteban del Valle. Please check out his work. It is amaaazing!
OK, pix! I have a bajillion things I gotta work on. I sorta started a new project making art out of old cigar boxes today. Yes, I just discovered Mod Podge. I guess it's never too late to get inspired! Also coming up are my handmade Halloween cards! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Sorry about the crazy, long post. I'll try to keep up with this blog more often.
P.S. Come to my show! There's going to be some incredibly talented people there, including my boyfriend who is showing his art for the very first time!
I like to draw weird shit and I like to talk about it.
